Commander's Commendation

Overview

Commander's Commendations are presented for outstanding performance in duty and/or work which impacts the wing level or above. 

 

Eligibility

All members, including cadets, are eligible to receive a Commander's Commendation.

Nominations may be made by any other member, including cadets. Nominations for the award may be submitted through eServices (member login required). 

 

Criteria

A Commander's Commendation is awarded for outstanding duty performance where achievement and services are clearly and unmistakably exceptional when compared to similar achievements and service of members of like rank and responsibility. In instances where several members are affiliated with an exceptionally successful program, project, or mission, a Commander's Commendation may be awarded only to those who clearly stand out from the others and who contributed most to the success of the program. 

 

Selection Process

The squadron Awards Committee will review the award nomination to determine if the award should recommendation should be approved. The Group Commander must approve the award at the group level before the award advances to the wing level for final review and approval. 

 

Wear of the Award on the Cadet Uniform

The Commander's Commendation Award ribbon may be worn on the Cadet Service (Class B "Blues"), Service Dress (Class A "Blues") and Semiformal uniforms.
