Overview

The Recruiting & Retention (RECREN) Officer serves as the unit's focal point for inspiring prospective members to join Civil Air Patrol. As the principal officer overseeing retention programming, the Recruiting & Retention Officer works closely with the unit Activities Officer and Public Affairs Officer to facilitate and market Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs to sustain member morale.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting of new members into Civil Air Patrol

• Ensuring new cadets are introduced into the Cadet Detachment in preparation for Basic Cadet Training

• Screening prospective members for advanced promotion eligibility and/or preferred qualifications for desired duty positions 

• Onboarding new senior members (and new cadet sponsor members) to begin Level 1 training and select a "career path"

• Monitoring squadron members coming due for renewal and working with such members to renew their Civil Air Patrol membership

• Sustaining member morale through Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities 

• Cooperation with the Public Affairs Officer to support the squadron's marketing and advertisement efforts
